.........................spring is here. 2 Black Swallow Tails I came upon lapping up some Black Birch sap that happened to be running out a scrape on the tree. That's the stuff they brew birch beer from and it tastes pretty sweet. No wonder those critters were's a lappin' it up! It's a little too late for this year, but next year (end of Feb/beginning of Mar.) I'm tapping some Black Birches and making some syrup, Uh Huh!
