Instead of just erasing the tick removal post and pretending that nothing happened I'll fess up and post this retraction. Although it was well intended it turns out to be a hoax. I should have checked with
Snopes.com first thing before posting. That's what I'll do from now on. Snopes is pretty good, everybody should go there if they've got a suspicion or two.
